While NAHBS takes place in Utah this weekend, over on the east coast handbuilt custom enthusiasts and newbies alike are invited to the renowned Cycles de ORO bicycle shop in Greensboro, NC, for a clinic entitled Custom Bicycle Frames: Why & How.

David Johnson of Dogwood Cycleworx, who will run the clinic, says "It is a show and tell followed by a Q&A. I will display some completed frames and bikes, plus examples of materials and elements of the process. Attendees will get an idea of what goes into addressing the body dimensions of each specific rider and how these are considered in relation to the desired bicycle function."

20 seats are available, and a conversational-paced ride will follow. Admission is free. The event contact is Dale Brown, proprietor of Cycles de ORO and the Classic Rendezvous cycling group, and a former NAHBS jury foreman. cyclesdeoro@gmail.com. The event also has a Facebook page.
